Does God Exist? A Debate between 4 Apologists & 1 Atheist

michelangelo-finger-of-god-lgThe Christian Book Expo was held last week in Texas and there were a number of interesting panel discussions.  One of the most intriguing is this debate between four very well-known Christian apologists, Lee Strobel, Douglas Wilson, William Lane Craig, and Jim Dennison, and the now notorious and witty athiest, Christopher Hitchens.

The last debate I posted was on the existence of the devil and was interesting but fairly shallow.  This one is meaty and very, very provative.  If you’ve never heard the sorts of questions about the faith that Hitchens asks, you need to, and you need to think them through.  I think that the four apologists do a tremendously good job of answering Hitchens and showing how inconsistent his beliefs are. Here’s the blurb:

The New Atheists usually make two charges against Christianity: (1) that it is untrue and (2) that it is harmful. A panel of Christian apologetics experts responds to an atheist critic with evidence from Scripture, science and, history about why faith is both reasonable and good for the world. Moderator: Stan Guthrie, Christianity Today Panelists: * Lee Strobel, The Case for the Real Jesus, The Case for a Creator (Zondervan) * William Lane Craig, Reasonable Faith (Crossway) * Douglas Wilson, Is Christianity Good for the World? (Canon Press) * Christopher Hitchens, Is Christianity Good for the World? (Canon Press) and God Is Not Great (Twelve Books) * Jim Denison, Wrestling with God (Tyndale)

Anyways, watch if for yourself here.  And let use the comments below and speak your mind: what do you think?
